How to Make Rainbow Slime

Make bright and beautiful rainbow slime with this easy DIY recipe! Perfect for spring, St. Patrick’s Day, or a colourful craft day, this stretchy slime is fun for kids to create, play with, and explore.

Instructions:

Step 1: Find what you need

  • Gather your supplies and materials.

Step 2: Mix the first ingredients

  • Pour 1/3 cup of clear glue into a bowl.

  • Add 1 teaspoon of baking soda.

  • Stir well, until the baking soda is mixed completely into the glue.If there are any clumps, use the back of the spoon to try and break them up.

  • Add 4 to 5 drops of liquid watercolor paint to the bowl. (Lighter colours, like yellow, may need more.)

Step 3: Activate the slime

  • Mix the liquid watercolour into the glue, and then add 1-1/2 teaspoons of contact lens solution.

  • Stir well. Squish the slime mixture down and keep stirring until the slime starts to come away from the bowl and you can’t stir any more.

  • Pick up the slime and begin stretching and kneading it. It will be quite sticky at first, but don’t panic! This is normal, and it will get less sticky the more you work with it.

  • Continue folding and stretching the slime until it no longer sticks to your hands.

Step 4: Repeat and combine the rainbow slime colours

  • Repeat, following the same recipe to make slime in all the colours of the rainbow.
