Top Tip

You can tie the lantern to a stick or bamboo cane if you want it to be held higher.

How to Make

1. For this lantern you will need two paper plates
2. Cut the middle out of the first plate and paint it orange or whatever colour you choose.
3. Cut a circle of tracing paper and stick this on the inside of the plate.
4. Now with the other plate cut off ¼ from one side.
5. Cut a circle of the metallic card and stick to the inside trimming in line with the cut out.
6. Paint the back of this plate too.
7. Once dry stick strips of ribbon to the bottom of the plate and sandwich them by sticking the two plates together.
8. This will create a small gap in between the plates where you can place your lights.
9. Create a hanging handle out of ribbon.
10. Decorate with leaf stickers.
