Step 3

Pipe Cleaner Hyacinths

  1. Firstly, paint the porcelain flowerpot with blue and yellow porcelain paint and set aside to dry.
  2. For the stems, fold a pipe cleaner in half and twist together to make the stem sturdier.
  3. For the hyacinth flower, wrap a blue pipe cleaner around the pencil and the tip of the pencil to make the hyacinth smaller at one end.
  4. Slide the hyacinth flower on the stem.
  5. For the leaves, fold a pipe cleaner in half and twist the bottom of the pipe cleaner.
  6. Push clay into the flowerpot and stick the end of the hyacinths and leaves into the clay.
  7. Lastly, stick various shades and sizes of brown pom poms around the hyacinths to create the ‘soil’.
