What you’ll need

Top Tip

After folding your bookmark, use a pencil to poke the inside into place.

How to Make

1. Print out the template provided and cut out the shapes, then draw around the pieces on the paper colours of your choice.
2. To make the bookmark base, cut out your square and fold it in half diagonally, to make a triangle shape. Then, with the flat edge along the bottom, fold the top corner in so that the tip touches the flat edge. Press the fold down well.
3. Next, fold the left and right edges of the triangle to the middle, so they touch the centre of the flat edge.
4. Unfold back the left and right edges of the triangle you have just folded and then fold these pieces upwards. Then tuck them into the small pocket to finish your bookmark base
5. Cut out your other pieces and assemble the mermaid, first placing the tail, then the hands, the hair and finally the face.
6. Draw on the mermaid’s face with coloured deco pens.
7. Stick on the Mermaid Self Adhesive Acrylic Jewels to make the headband and then decorate the tail with sequins and/or glitter glue and fill in the mermaid’s lips with glitter glue. Allow to dry thoroughly.
