Supplies Needed

  • White glue or PVA glue
  • Poster paint or acrylic paint
  • Paper cups or small mixing containers
  • Squeeze bottles
  • Sticks or coffee stirrers

STEPS

STEP 1a Colored White Glue

1Prepare small bottles of glue.

Think about how many colors of puffy paint you want to make. Prepare the same number of small bottles of white glue (e.g. 1.25 oz or 4 oz. bottles).

STEP 1b Colored White Glue

If you have a large bottle of white glue, you can transfer the glue into smaller squeeze bottles.

STEP 2 Colored White Glue

2Add some paint.

Add a small amount of poster paint or acrylic paint into each glue bottle or squeeze bottle.

If you want to make a stiff puffy paint for decorating glass, CD’s or plastic surfaces, mix 2 parts white glue with 1 part acrylic paint.

STEP 3 Colored White Glue

3Mix well.

Use a small a stick or a coffee stirrer to mix the paint inside the glue bottle. Add more paint if you want to increase the color intensity.

STEP 4 Colored White Glue

4Make more colored glue.

Color more bottles of glue with various colors of paint.

STEP 5 Colored White Glue

5Use the colored glue.
